![]() ![]() Most long time CP patients on opioids experience the relief of the severity of their pain, but the rush went away long ago. The danger comes in how this feeling is interpreted. I also still feel a mild sense of well being with my meds too, but not the kind that comes on like a rush. Maybe a hard hitting sense of well being. When I use the word euphoria I am referring to what some might call a 'rush.' Something more than just the absence of severe pain. Is that what you guys mean by "euphoria," or is it something stronger than that? I never really had the chance to feel anything more significant than that, but I know that when I started these medications many months ago, I was in terrible pain so that overshadowed everything else. Kind of like the pain stepping into the back seat so I can finally think about what I'm actually doing in front of me. Sometimes, I wonder if these are really just a result of the pain decreasing, giving me a sense of relief. Along with the word "relaxing" I might also call it a mild sense of well-being. After many months, I still get a "relaxing" effect when I take a dose of my meds, along with significant pain relief. However, as I'm still relatively new to the world of CP, I often wonder what others on this board mean when they refer to euphoria. ![]() Don't ever forget that pain relief and euphoria are separate things, and you could still be getting the former without the latter. Just out of curiosity, could you guys elaborate on what you mean by "euphoria?" I echo the comments below for the original poster.
